We design public green spaces for people, plants and pollinators.

Plant Up is a social enterprise creating biodiverse,
climate-resilient landscapes shaped by the communities who use them.

We collaborate with communities, councils, housing associations and cultural organisations to transform overlooked urban land into places that are generous, resilient and alive.

Our work sits somewhere between landscape design, ecology and creative community practice, combining hands-on gardening with big-picture thinking about how cities grow.

You are currently visiting our temporary landing page while we work our magic behind the scenes. Like most good gardens, it’s taking a bit of time. For now, here’s a snapshot of our work.

From rain gardens to overlooked urban spaces, habitat pollinator planting to public green spaces, all our projects are shaped by the people who live, work and gather there.

Gardens grow best when people shape them.

Projects include community gardens, rain gardens, pollinator habitats, and post-industrial planting - from brownfield sites to housing estates, streetscapes and shared green spaces.

Each project responds to:

  • the site

  • its history

  • the people who live there/use it

  • and the ecosystems it can support

What we do

We believe:

Public green space should be open, generous and free to access.

Communities deserve a say in how their surroundings are shaped.

Biodiversity and beauty are not luxuries.

Climate-resilient design should be practical, creative and joyful.

Doing the work matters as much as talking about it.

Our approach blends ecological knowledge, creative reuse of materials and collaborative design to build spaces that last, socially and environmentally.
