Verge
VERGE is a brownfield garden and pop-up art space created on derelict land under a railway bridge. For over 25 years local residents put up with this space being used as a dumping ground.
Transforming this neglected and underused area into a thriving green space has revitalised a previously non-descript interstitial space - creating a unique garden that celebrates the rich biodiversity of brownfield open-mosaic landscapes.
Brownfield sites often create a rich foundation for nature and their importance in our post industrial landscape is now beginning to be understood.
